Kris Aquino admitted that after the race for box office supremacy has
affected their friendship, she and Vice Ganda let bygones be bygones.
Kris’
“My Little Bossings” and Vice’s “Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy,” which were
battling each other for the number one slot in the recent Metro Manila
Film Festival (MMFF), placed first and second when the MMFF ended last
January 7.
“Yes. Let's be honest. Siyempre may effect sa amin.
‘Lakas talaga.’ Ganoon ang sabi niya. Then I told him (Vice Ganda),
‘Tapos na iyan ha?’ Sabi niya, ‘Oo naman. Nagulat lang ako na ganon sila
kalakas.’ Tapos sinabi ko, ‘Bata eh.’ Iyon lang. Since that time, we've
been texting. We are okay,” Kris said during the January 13 episode of
her show, “Kris TV.”
Separate purposes
Kris believes she and Vice Ganda each had a purpose when they came up with their respective movies.
“I
tried to tell myself na it's really not about me and Bimby (Aquino Yap,
her son by estranged husband James Yap and one of the stars of “My
Little Bossings”), because it could be about the two noontime shows.
Parang tinatry ko to look at it from that perspective. I also tried to
look at it at the perspective na six years old si Bimb at si Vice is in
his late 30s. So sinabi ko na ito life-long sa kanya ito at ito once
lang sa kabataan ng anak ko. So parang naisip ko, happy-happy we all
won.”
Vice Ganda himself confirmed in an interview on “Buzz ng Bayan” that everything is okay between him and Kris.
Kris showed how she appreciated Ai-Ai delas Alas’ support in “My Little Bossings.”
“I
want to say thank you to her for being so giving. For that generosity
she shows Bimby. Sabi talaga niya na para sa iyo iyan and kay Vic
(Sotto, producer and star of “My Little Bossings”). Naramdaman ko talaga
sa kanya yung sincerity na wish na maging successful ito at yung joy na
naramdaman niya when it happened.”
Ai-Ai, who is known for her
the success of “Tanging Ina” series in MMFF, was happy for the success
of “My Little Bossings.” Kris and Ai-Ai starred in last year’s MMFF
entry “Sisterakas.”
“I want to say thank you to her for being so
giving. For that generosity she shows Bimby. Sabi talaga niya na para sa
iyo iyan and kay Vic. Naramdama ko talaga sa kanya yung sincerity na
wish na maging successful ito at 'yung joy na naramdaman niya when it
happened,” Kris said.
