Luy challenges Revilla to attend Senate pork hearing

Whistleblower Benhur Luy challenged Senator Bong Revilla to a face-off at the Senate after the lawmaker called him a liar and a forger.

Both of them should attend a Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on the pork barrel scam so the public can judge who among them is telling the truth, Luy said.

In a text message sent to ABS-CBN News, Luy said he has no power to order the release of Revilla’s pork barrel funds to bogus non-government organizations (NGO) of Janet Lim Napoles, a businesswoman whom Luy once worked for. Napoles reportedly used lawmakers’ public funds with their approval to bankroll fake projects and funnel money to politicians’ pockets.
Earlier, Atty. Levito Baligod, who represents Luy and other whistleblowers, said that instead of criticizing the Aquino administration and diverting the issue, it would be better for Senator Revilla to explain why he released most of his pork barrel to Napoles NGOs.
